The Youth Advisory Council was launched in 2011 as a leadership development program focusing on personal finance. The program is designed to teach and equip high school students with basic financial skills to prepare them for college and beyond.
Council members meet twice a month to learn about personal financial issues, service leadership, marketing and career opportunities in the financial field. The Council will also participate in a community service project benefiting the Children's Medical Center. Members will also participate at several Texas Trust community events throughout the session.
"The Council is an interactive educational program that teaches and equips students with skills they will use throughout their lifetime," said Amber Danford, senior vice president of marketing. "The students also get to see how a financial institution operates, so they have a better understanding of how our financial system works."
Educate and empower your teen while seeing their commitment to their own future with myFuture workshops.
Designed for a teen to attend with their parents, myFuture teaches the basics of the financial skills they don’t teach in high school.
More importantly, it fosters conversation around financial topics that are hard to maintain a teen’s attention at home. Find out when the next myFuture course will be and sign up to attend online.
